Parafilm es una película plástica de parafina a base de papel. Está compuesta parcialmente de polietileno y es un material termoplástico, estirable, impermeable, inodoro, cohesivo y translúcido.
En micología se utiliza Parafilm para envolver herméticamente placas de Petri para sellarlas herméticamente y protegerlas así de la contaminación externa.
